Night Vision Scopes & Devices
Image-intensifier-tube night vision (Gen-2+, Gen-3, Gen-3 white phosphor) amplifies ambient light through a photocathode-microchannel-plate-phosphor stack, producing the classic green or white-phosphor view familiar from military use. Strengths: superior performance in true low-light (starlight, no IR illumination needed), zero detectable IR signature, instant on/off, no battery drain rendering video. Weaknesses: tubes degrade over time, halo around bright lights, no recording capability without an external bridge, and ITAR-controlled high-FOM tubes drive prices into the $3,500+ range. Best for serious nighttime applications where image quality and stealth matter more than feature integration.
